Happiness is...
These darling fingerling striped eggplants at the farmer's market.
There were also pale purple, dark purple, white, and green ones. I wanted to get some of each. But little boys do protest so much.
They are even able to pick all the pieces of delicate, tasty eggplant out of their servings of ratatouille.
I'll be sure to hide it much better next time.

Yum! I LOVE eggplant.
ReplyDeleteNo one else in my family will eat eggplant. I don't mind it myself, although I don't think I could eat quite that many on my own.

We are growing eggplant in our garden this year. They are currently purple and white stripped, similar to these ones. Maybe they are ready afterall.

I have an appreciation for eggplant, but I'll admit that I don't really love it.
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI used to admire the purple globes at farmers markets as a child. Mama always declined to buy any. One day she gave in...to my deep disappointment they were not the sugary plum magic I had dreamed. How did she know?
We found a way we did like them: batter/ spices dipped and fried (not over cooked, a delicate balance) with ketchup, ranch or BBQ sauces.
